Ultimately, I think it's an absolute failure when a multiplayer game fails to be fun if you don't venture outside of your friends list. Burnout Paradise is probably my favorite multiplayer game this gen because it was a lot of fun to me no matter who I played with. I actually added over 30 people to my firends list that I wound up playing other stuff with.

As with RDR, GTA online shows a lot of promise, but it's ruined by a bunch of assholes and bad multiplayer design  that make your time in that world a total pain in the ass. I'm sure it can be fun with friends. Hell, even the worst games benefit from that.

So playing the 360 version online. Things are going pretty good. Had about 50K in the bank. Decided to buy a modest 2 car garage. Then decided to fill it up. Found a nice Dominator (Ford Mustang), put a tracker on it and bought insurance. Sold my original cat back to LS Customs. Then bought a new Motorcycle for 15K. Was driving the motorcycle around doing missions and my Dominator was in the garage. Decided to take a break. Switched over to Franklin and paused the game. Came back to online about 15 minutes later. My original cat is back, my garage is empty and the money I spend on the car and bike are gone. WTF. HadOne2Many

Just finished beating the game watching these long credits. This is easily GOTY great i loved it way better than 4 and i actually enjoyed controlling 3 characters way more than just one. i hope they do it again with GTA 6vincent380

The online is really fun once it works. Though I'm really wary of continuing since two of my close friends just lost their characters this morning. I lost my character for a bit but he eventually came back, theirs didn't. The game is such a mess :/ No wonder why they didn't release it the same day the actual game came out.

Pathetic launch - release it two weeks later and obviously have an idea of how many people will be joining, hardly works for almost a week, then when it does it deletes my character two days later after 15 hours of gameplay. really, rockstar?

Got some serious time in online yesterday (up to level 17 or so). Most of what I was doing were jobs that can be done by yourself, but occasionally I was sending invites and I jumped in to help others pretty frequently. WARNING: list of random thoughts below. Lone wolfing it is kind of fun in it's own "me against the world" way, but a party of friends is definitely the way to go. Seems like the cars not saving in my garage issue I was complaining about earlier has fixed itself. I now have my Pegassi Bati 801. Man that bike is like a freaking beacon that attracts the crazies. Spent a lot of time hunting down thieves. Lame that sometimes you get dropped in the middle of nowhere when joining a session. I started on one of the islands off the east coast once. Also lame that you keep getting the same jobs over and over. Some of the chase missions can be really tedious and they don't pay well. Really cool that there's some interaction with the story characters. Hopefully there's more of this. Depositing money from your phone instead of hunting down an ATM is a nice touch. At one point I just finished a mission, I go back to free roam and immediately I see someone headed toward my position really aggressively on the mini map. Thinking I was about to get splattered I tried to make it to my car, but the guy was coming so fast I had to take cover behind the car instead of get in it. It's some nut job in a hockey mask. He jumps out of his ride, but instead of shooting at me he jumps into my car. For a second I think about killing him, but I was scared of getting a bad rep so I jumped into the car with him instead. Maybe he needed help or something. Nope. He nearly kills both of us and trashes my ride flipping off an overpass. So I do the only thing that makes sense and start shooting cops. Pretty soon we've got 4 stars and the Noose have us pinned in on an exit ramp. We didn't make it. My car was so badly damaged in the impound lot there was no way I could steal it back. 4 flat tires isn't getting you very far. Should of gotten insurance on it.HadOne2Many

hold down select scroll to the bottom of that quick option menu and set the option for nobody but you to drive your personal vehicle.

I have a question.  In singleplayer, you know those hidden packages/briefcases?(if you go on you tube you can look at a video of one by a plane wreck)

Well I can't find them.  At all.  Any of them.  I have not looked for them before, I have NOT found any of them, I'm looking where they should be, and I've switched characters just in case. 

Did rockstar take away hidden packages with the update? 

I'm beggining to really freaking hate this god damn mode. Passive mode doesn't work for crap, and people are still shooting me to death, or chasing me around and popping my tires. Rockstar is a freaking mess, I don't understand how such a good studio could make such a mess like this.

This online launch should be a showcase model for why game developers should have betas... I like the game but what I LOVED about gta 4 was how easy it was to find a simple race... Seriously all I want to do is have races....just make a lobby for these gametypes ugh...fueled-system

my solution was to put a bunch of  guys that like to race on my friends list that way everyone is into it and just keep going from race to race.

If it wasn't for the SP, it would be almost as bad as ABP.

The thing that really gets me on my nerves is the endless amount of loading screens. The P2P networking is the icing on the cake.
